15 essentials to pack for your Cabo vacation

So you’re ready to head to Cabo for sunny beaches, waterfront restaurants, and an exciting nightlife scene. Besides the usual suspects, here’s a few key items you shouldn’t forget to pack.

  • Athletic shoes: While you can go anywhere in town in flip flop, the Cabo area is known for great hiking and other activities. In case you decide to search for waterfalls, climb Mount Solmar, go ziplining, or ride horses or ATVs, or even just hit the gym, you’ll definitely need a pair of closed-toed shoes in your suitcase.
  • Waterproof phone case: At some point during your trip, you’ll be on, near, or most likely in the water. A simple waterproof phone case will protect you from splashes as well as get right in the action for that perfect photo or video. You’ll want to bring it with you and not pay local tourist pricing.
  • GoPro: Kayaking, snorkeling, swimming with Dolphins, fishing, surfing, ATVs, ziplines, or any other action activity is honestly just better in the baja. You’re going to want a great video to remember it. A waterproof, shockproof GoPro camera is the perfect tool for capturing those Cabo moments. Don’t forget the accessories and proprietary charging cable as well.
  • Battery packs: A full day at the beach and your phones and tablets will be spent. Throw one of those portable juice packs in your bag to stay in the action.
  • Bluetooth speaker: If you like having your own music (at the beach or in your suite), think about bringing a decent speaker with you so you don’t have to pull the old “phone in a glass” trick.
  • Multi port usb charging station: With your days being spent out and about (even if it’s just at the pool), you’re going to need to charge up all your electronics every night. One of those charging stations will really come in handy.
  • Multiple swimsuits: You days will likely be spent lounging by the beach or at resort pool. Bring a few swimsuits so that you will always have one ready to go when your others are hanging to dry. This will also make your pictures more interesting instead of wearing the same outfit in every one!
  • Microfiber beach blanket: If you plan on exploring outdoors to soak in the amazing Cabo views, bring one of those new microfiber beach blankets. They roll up small in your bag and will come in handy no doubt.
  • Loose, lightweight clothing: Cabo weather is pretty hot and humid year round. You’re going to want a bunch of versatile options and you won’t need jeans or tight dresses for dinners or night clubs. This is a casual town, enjoy it!
  • Sandals or flip flops: Suitable footwear is a must for your Cabo getaway. Think about bringing one pair for day at the pool or beach and a second pair for going out.
  • Hats or visors: No matter your complexion, at some point you’ll want a little shade on your face. Even a brief break can be a lifesaver in the Mexico sun.
  • Beach Bag: You’re going to need a decent bag to carry everything to the beach or pool. Bring a versatile one, that can get sandy or wet, to haul around your sunscreen, shades, hat, electronics, books and more.
  • Sunscreen: Speaking of sun protection, you’re going to want to bring your own as the local tourist prices are exorbitant compared to prices you’re used to at home. If you aren’t checking luggage, buy the 3 oz bottles on Amazon. You’ll thank me later!
  • Aloe vera: If you get a sunburn, you will be glad you brought the aloe – the tried and true remedy. Even if you don’t over do in the sun, the aloe vera is fantastic for hydration and rejuvenation of your skin from a long day at the beach.
  • Activated charcoal pills: Even if you’re extremely careful, you might get an upset stomach from the local cuisine. Bring some activated charcoal pills with you to boost your digestive system.
  • Vitamin B complex pills: If you’ve never heard of the magic of vitamin B supplement, this could just be the best tip of your life. Your body uses vitamin B to process alcohol, so you easily end up deficient in this essential nutrient. This shortage cause of the fatigue, dizziness and even memory loss you experience the morning after drinking. Take some before drinking and after – and in the middle if it’s a marathon. Your body will thank you.
